Leafield House is a fine Grade II listed former rectory designed by the eminent ecclesiastical architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott. The house and church, which is adjacent to the house, were completed around 1860.

  • Approached via two driveways sits the house - a handsome gothic façade with a stone gabled porch and stone mullion windows which impress immediately.

    The generous hallway with its flagstone floor welcomes you in – the gothic windows halfway up the main staircase flood the hallway with natural light.

    On the ground floor there is a grand dining room with stripped wooden floorboards and an elegant drawing room – both with open fires and original shutters. There is a substantial kitchen / breakfast room with AGA and original built-in Victoria pitch pine dresser.

    There is a huge cellar running the length of the house on the lower ground floor which could have a variety of uses but has mainly been used for wine storage.
