  • Set within a plot of 0.6 acres, Willoughbys is a charming four / five bedroom part-thatched family home set on the edge of the green in the popular village of Marsh Baldon. This Grade II listed sixteenth century house, which has been repaired and expertly maintained by the present owners, was completely re-thatched three years ago. This house has a particularly warm and friendly feel, with just the right blend of character and liveability, making the best of its period features, including two splendid open fireplaces, but alongside provisions of the assets needed for today’s living.

The ground floor layout currently includes a farmhouse kitchen with range cooker, dining room, sitting room, drawing room, home office and WC.

There are four good-sized bedrooms on the first floor, of which the master benefits from an en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom. The loft has been converted to create a further space which would be an ideal home office or guest bedroom. There is plenty of storage space.

There is a perfect, large cottage garden with half an acre of lawn, meadow, orchard and kitchen garden, and facing east west and south can boast somewhere to sit in the sunshine from dawn to dusk. There is a single garage, brick built shed and a large outbuilding spanning over 40 ft in length.

  • Willoughbys is situated right on the village green in one of South Oxfordshire’s most popular villages. Marsh Baldon, alongside nearby Toot and Little Baldon, offers a range of amenities including The Seven Stars and The Mole public houses, an Ofsted rated “good” Church of England primary school and a village hall. The village has an excellent sense of community which includes an active events committee, The Baldons Cricket Club and the ‘Baldon Runners’. In addition, the village is well positioned for the major road routes to London and the Midlands including the M40, A34 and Oxford ring road. Nearby Didcot and Oxford provide regular main line train services to London Paddington. There is a school bus from nearby Nuneham Courtenay to local secondary schools.
